Sitting down? Good. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's reality show is kaput.

The news comes from several industry sources, including Us Weekly and TMZ. Apparently, Khloe and Lamar are no longer interested in filming their show after two seasons on E!.

According to a source that spoke to TMZ, Odom wants to refocus on his hoops career. Indeed, his game could use some attention. The onetime Los Angeles Laker had a disastrous season after his trade to the Dallas Mavericks. Odom postedcareer-low numbers, averaging 6.6 points per game and just 4.2 rebounds. He is currently on the team's inactive list.

US tiger shrimp sightings worry scientists

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A big increase in reports of Asian tiger shrimp along the U.S. Southeast coast and in the Gulf of Mexico has federal biologists worried the species is encroaching on native species' territory.

The black-and-white-striped shrimp can grow 13 inches long and weigh a quarter-pound, compared to eight inches and a bit over an ounce for domestic white, brown and pink shrimp. Scientists fear the tigers will bring disease and competition for native shrimp.

Shrimp are all bottom feeders, eating detritus and small animals. Bigger shrimp would eat more and these get so big they also eat small shrimp and fish, marine ecologist James A. Morris said.

Reports of tiger shrimp in U.S. waters rose from a few dozen a year — 21 in 2008, 47 in 2009 and 32 in 2010 — to 331 last year, from North Carolina to Texas.

Original Star Wars storyboards show a much creepier Emperor

Thanks to an interview with Star Wars: Return of the Jedi storyboard artist David Russell, some old school design art from the film has been released in the wild. What stands out the most? The Emperor was, apparently, even creepier during the design phase.

Russell's artwork is pretty great, and it shows some of the scene concepts worked out while the film was being pieced together. The Emperor shots stand out quite a bit from the finished product and actually come off as even more menacing than the final version.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 89.2 points, or 0.69%, to 13091, the S&P 500 rose 18.7 points, or 1.4%, to 1391 and the Nasdaq Composite soared 68 points, or 2.3%, to 3030.

Apple, the world's biggest publicly-traded company by market capitalization, earned $11.6 billion in its fiscal second quarter on sales of $39.2 billion, easily beating analysts' expectations. The iPad-maker's shares, which had seen selling pressure over the previous 11 trading days, soared some 8.9% on Wednesday. 

The company makes up 29% of the closely-watched Nasdaq 100 index of non-financial companies and 4% of the S&P 500, according to Reuters, meaning moves can have an outsized affect on Wall Street as a whole. 

Overall, the technology sector performed the best on the day, followed by basic materials stocks. Indeed, the Nasdaq had its best day of the year.

Three years after a blitz of recalls and quality crises, Toyota has regained its image among Americans as the automaker with the highest quality vehicles, topping all others in the first Yahoo! Autos Survey. The four brands right behind it include a couple of names you might expect -- and a couple of surprises.

Of the 1,000 people asked which automotive brand built the highest-quality vehicles, Toyota came on top with 13%, well ahead of any other brand. That figure's in line with its performance on the industry's traditional independent quality trackers — the annual Consumer Reports and J.D. Power surveys. Both found a downturn in the wake of the sudden acceleration recalls in 2010 and federal probe that eventually exonerated Toyota, but the automaker regained ground after vowing to focus on better quality vehicles. SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — A judge is considering whether to raise or revoke the bond for George Zimmerman after his lawyer told the judge a website raised $200,000 for the defense.

Mark O'Mara told the judge Friday that Zimmerman's family hadn't told him about the money before his client was given $150,000 bond.

New evidence disclosed in death of Marine's wife

VISTA, Calif. (AP) — Brittany Killgore was hoping to unwind for three days after filing for divorce from her Marine husband serving in Afghanistan.

Prosecutors believe things quickly went wrong when she met another Marine for a night out.

"She sent a text saying, 'Help,'" Patrick Espinoza, a deputy district attorney in San Diego County, said Thursday. "She was missing from that point on."

Authorities said Killgore's body was found in brush near Lake Skinner on April 17, hours after paramedics were called to a San Diego motel and found another woman with self-inflicted cuts and a suicide note.

Killgore's message to an unidentified friend was disclosed at an arraignment for Louis Ray Perez, 45, who pleaded not guilty to murder.

Macs are about to be swamped by a new wave of malware attacks, and are at risk because Apple is "ten years behind Microsoft" when it comes to security, says Eugene Kaspersky, founder and CEO of the security firm Kaspersky. If he's right, the recent Flashback Trojan attack is the shape of things to come.

In an interview with Computer Business Review, Kaspersky said that Apple needs to alter its security approach if it's going to fend off the wave of attacks. He said:

"I think they (Apple) are ten years behind Microsoft in terms of security. For many years I've been saying that from a security point of view there is no big difference between Mac and Windows."

The market was dead wrong on Apple

The market was dead wrong on AppleAAPL -0.97% and that provides a big opportunity to make money and a level playing field for the small investor. Apple opened today at 616, up 56, and is undervalued. Its products are ubiquitous and widely understood and appreciated by the public. Even Warren Buffett could understand this technology company.

With the latest earnings taking the professionals completely by surprise, the small investor has the same advantage of knowledge as the professional. The small investor, at least for today, knows as much about Apple news as anybody on the Street.

All the analysts are busy re-working their numbers on the company, so using their currently published numbers is really being conservative. When I wrote an article back in October on APPL, the recent analyst 12-month targets were 550, and the high analyst target was 700.

Exclusive: Senior U.S. General Orders Top-to-Bottom Review of Military’s Islam Training

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on Tuesday ordered the entire U.S. military to scour its training material to ensure it doesn’t contain anti-Islamic content, Danger Room has learned. The order came after the Pentagon suspended a course for senior officers that was found to contain derogatory material about Islam.

The extraordinary order by General Martin Dempsey, the highest-ranking military officer in the U.S. armed forces, was prompted by content in a course titled “Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism” that was presented as an elective at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia. The course instructed captains, commanders, lieutenant colonels and colonels from across all four armed services that “Islam had already declared war on the West,” said Lt. Gen. George Flynn, Dempsey’s deputy for training and education.

iPad thieves caught on cellphone video

Authorities are looking for thieves who find their victims on Craigslist, set up meetings, then run away with the merchandise, Atlanta police said Tuesday.

One such theft was caught on video, and police hope the public will help identify the suspects.

Last week, a couple selling an iPad on Craigslist was contacted by someone interested in purchasing it. The individual requested a meeting in the 2700 block of Defoors Ferry Road, according to a police report.

Donald Trump demands Scotland nix wind turbines

EDINBURGH, Scotland — Donald Trump has demanded in Parliament that Scotland end plans for an offshore wind farm he fears will spoil the view at his exclusive new golf resort.

In a typically blunt display, the New York property tycoon Wednesday told an inquiry into renewable energy to stop the wind power efforts.

He says, "Scotland, if you pursue this policy of these monstrous turbines, Scotland will go broke."
