Al and Sandra Alverson was expecting two gifts they had bought online
to get delivered this past Wednesday, but only one made it safely to
their house in Houston. Wonder what happened to the other one?
The mystery began after FedEx sent the Alversons a confirmation
notice that a package had been delivered that morning. According to
FedEx’s records, the Apple iPad Mini, which was supposed to be a gift
for their daughter, had come at 9:29 am. But guess what? No package.
Al Alverson, who had set up a surveillance system monitoring his
front door, decided to review the tape and found that the package had
arrived at the stated delivery time. Intrigued, he kept watching the
video until a UPS delivery man arrived at about 1:15 that afternoon to
deliver a second package. But just minutes later, the delivery man
returned – and grabbed the FedEx package containing Alverson’s
daughter’s Christmas gift.
“I said, ‘oh my God,’ it is the UPS guy,” Alverson told KHOU Houston.
After the Alversons posted the video on YouTube, UPS company promised
to help Alverson replace the iPad he had ordered. According to reports,
the company also fired the delivery man – who had been hired as a
seasonal worker – and pressed theft charges. As far as Santa goes, we’ll
know who he’ll be leaving off his list.
