Thursday was the anniversary of the inaugural IPv6 Launch Day ….but unfortunately not that many people even noticed with the adaptation of IPv6 mostly stuck in the virtual doldrums. While there is ongoing adoption of the latest Internet protocol, it hasn’t exactly created a firestorm of interest. The most adaptation is coming from new connects to the Internet rather than large ISP switching over. Presently IPv6 is carrying only 1.3% of all Internet traffic. There was no IPv6 Launch Day this year.
"The good news is that almost everywhere we look, IPv6 is increasing," Roberts said. "It seems to be me that it's now at the groundswell stage, and it all looks like everything is up and to the right."
