This conceptual image shows what could be Russia's next generation long-range strategic stealth bomber, the Tupolev PAK DA. Scheduled to fly in 2015, reports now indicate that it'll be capable of launching hypersonic missiles that would travel faster than Mach 5, approximately twice the speed of a conventional AIM-9 Sidewinder.
The PAK-DA will be stealthy, and will apparently (let us stress that "apparently") have a crusing altitude of 170,000 feet. To put that in perspective, the Red Bull "Space Jump" was from just 128,000 feet.And to put that in perspective, space actually starts at about 328,000 feet.
