While dropping sneak peeks at concept art from the next chapter in The Chronicles of Riddick, Vin Diesel revealed his plans to turn his body into a special effect.
On his Facebook page, Diesel talked about what Riddick mastermind David Tuohy has in mind for the newest sequel:
"So, the director of Riddick, my partner on [The Chronicles of Riddick] since the beginning, [David Twohy]... has a new challenge in store. He wants me to have 3 different body looks for this next chapter... There is the DiNorscio type, the Dom type, and the lean Furyan type... but all in the same movie, haha... When it comes to art, we all like a challenge."His reference to various characters he's played—the sinewy Furyan he's played sincePitch Black, the musclebound Dom Toretto from Fast and the Furious, and the doughier Jackie DiNorscio from Find Me Guilty—makes me think that there's gonna be a relately extensive flashback structure to Riddick. Otherwise, why make Diesel yo-yo his weight all over the place?
As for that piece of concept art above, it seems to be a rejiggering of an illustration from the Assault on Dark Athena video game—which was a better extension of the Chronicles of Riddick than theChronicles of Riddick movie was.
