When Spartacus returns with a Vengeance (pun intended) in roughly two weeks, we all know there's gonna be a whole lotta bloody vengeance going on. Not only for Sparty (Liam McIntyre) and his merry band of escaped gladiators and slaves, but also for the women of the show we've all come to know and often love to hate.
In order to celebrate the fantastic women of its sexy and bloody sword-and-loincloths (we like loincloths better than sandals, just sayin') hit drama series, Starz has released a cool new behind-the-scenes video that features ''The Women of Spartacus.''
Lucy Lawless (Lucretia), Viva Bianca (Ilithyia, aka Lucretia's best-frenemy-in-the-world), Hanna Mangan Lawrence (Seppia) and Katrina Law (Mira) discuss the mindset of their characters for season two, and how the women of Spartacus: Vengeance will shape things to come.
With stuff like ''The Gods whisper of deceit and treachery'' and ''Only Blood can set us free now,'' you know that season two will be as thrilling as Blood and Sands and its prequel, Gods of the Arena.
Have a look:
We don't know about you, but we're reminded of the old (and antiquated) saying that behind every great man there's a great woman. That's certainly true for Spartacus, where the women can be as strong, manipulative, bloody and intriguing as the gladiators in Batiatus' (John Hannah—we'll miss you, Batty!) ludus and the senators of Rome!
Spartacus: Vengeance premieres on Starz on Jan. 27. LINK
