Elon Musk interested in electric pickup truck and supersonic jet

When Elon Musk speaks, the world listens. The man behind Tesla and Space X has bold new plans to possibly build an electric pickup truck according to Business Insider. That's not the only new thing Musk wants to build either. The New York Times reports Musk also wants to build a supersonic jet.
The electric pickup truck would be made by Tesla and be similar in size to the Ford F-150 pickup truck. Musk told Business Insider that the pickup truck would not be a commercial one (too bad!) and that it could revealed in five years.
As for the jet, Musk says he started looking at opportunities to build a supersonic jet after the Concorde, a supersonic jet that could get you from New York to London in about 3.5 hours, was retired in 2003.
Speaking with the Times, Musk said "there's an interesting opportunity to make a supersonic jet vertical takeoff-landing jet." As you probably already know, building a vertical takeoff-landing jet, let alone a supersonic one, is easier said than done. There's a reason we still need runways.
If there's one thing Musk is, it's being overambitious. We're not saying it's a bad thing, but he's making us giddy with all his futuristic tech including the Iron Man-style design setup and Hyperloop concept. And let's not forget his plans to turn the James Bond car he bought into a working submarine and build self-driving cars. Jeez, does this guy even sleep?
