Giffffr Is A Really Simple Tool to Turn YouTube Videos into GIFs

YouTube is home to dramatic chipmunks, weird Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen remixes and almost every single Simpsons scene you can imagine. In other words, it’s a treasure trove of GIF-able material. With the new website Giffffr, you can transform your favorite YouTube clips into animated clips, edit them and then share them with the rest of the Internet in a few quick steps. It’s one of the simplest methods for creating GIFs on the Internet that we’ve come across, and it’s totally free.
Here’s how it works.
1. Go to Giffff.fr. (That’s four F’s, by the way.)

2. Paste the URL of the YouTube video you’d like to GIF into the white box, and then wait for it to load.

3. Your video will appear on the screen with some editing tools below it. Move the bars below the clip back and forth to trim the video down to the section you want to see as a GIF.

4. Once you’ve picked the section of the video you’d like to GIF, you can scroll down to choose the size, speed and caption for the photo. If you’re planning on sharing this on Twitter or Tumblr, you should probably make the GIF as small as possible. The speed of the GIF is up to you: 0.5x is half the actual speed of the video, and 2x is double. You can also add a caption at the top or bottom of the video, if you so desire. When you’re all done, click Make it so!

5. When it’s finished, you’ll have the choice to download it to your computer or, if it’s small enough, add it to the image-hosting site Imgur.

6. And then you get your GIF.

That’s all I can teach you. Now go out there and make me proud, kids.
