Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake all helped make first-person shooters the most popular genre in games, and with Rage, id is hoping to once again push the boundaries. Learn how below:

Sharkey says: I finally had the chance to spend some hands-on time with Rage at E3 after following the game through screenshots and trailers for years. The game looks amazing, offers different approaches to each battle thanks to an arsenal of cool and varied weaponry, and plays like butter. My only complaint was that, while Rage's world is fairly open, its maps felt a bit too linear, with few if any areas to explore beyond the path laid out in front of you. It's disappointing, but not enough to deter me from making Rage a day one purchase. VIDEO
