Before Quake, and before Doom, there was Wolfenstein 3D. The game was released in 1992, and it's certainly possible that many of you might not have ever seen it, let alone played through it. Arguably, Wolfeinstein is the daddy of all subsequent FPS games, and now you can experience it online, right in your browser, for free.
We should probably mention that Wolfenstein is a game based around the theme of killing Nazis, and as such, it involves both killing and Nazis. If that's too NSFW for you, there's also a fascinating video podcast with Wolfenstein's programmer John Carmack, which you can check out below. VIDEO
