Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof have somehow managed to be both coy aboutPrometheus' Alien connections and incredibly revealing. And this latest bit of "casting news" further cements that Prometheus very much takes place in the Alien universe ... otherwise, why feature a guy who's been in three other Alien movies?
While promoting Tron: Uprising, for which he does the voice of Tesler, Lance Henriksen dropped the following nugget on the press:
"Somebody through the grapevine, I heard that [Prometheus is] using a digital version of me to describe history. ... I can't wait to see it."
If this is true, this will mark the fourth time Henriksen will be in an Alien film: First, as Bishop in James Cameron's Aliens, then as both Bishop and Michael Bishop (the android's designer) in David Fincher's Alien 3, and then as Charles Bishop Weyland inAlien vs. Predator.
It will also mark the second time a Cameron character has been brought back to life digitally: Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 popped up in Terminator Salvation.
It's unclear how Charles Bishop Weyland is related to Guy Pearce's Peter Weyland, but since this is all conjecture at this point, we're not going to hurt ourselves trying to figure out the Weyland family tree.
