BMW has announced plans to create a two-man bobsled for Team USA.
The sled is being developed in collaboration with the USA Bobsled & Skeleton Federation (USBSF) and is slated to be used at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. Little is known about the sled but it will leverage BMW's "world-class engineering and design expertise." As such it will feature lightweight materials, optimized aerodynamics and unparalleled chassis dynamics.
A prototype has already been delivered to the USBSF and it will be refined over the course of the next year.
If everything goes according plan, the sled will enable Team USA to claim their first two-man bobsled gold medal since 1936.
