A woman on a bike was nearly run over by a train outside of London after she ignored railroad crossing barriers that had been lowered, warning of the train’s approach.
The Cambridgeshire incident, which was captured on video, shows the cyclist breaking to an abrupt stop just inches from the speeding train. She then uses her feet to quickly back up to try to avoid being struck.
British Transport Police are still trying to locate the woman after last month’s near-collision.
Police released the dramatic footage Wednesday, according to The Associated Press, in the hope that it would make people more aware of the dangers posed at railroad crossings.
To be sure, the woman is fortunate to have stopped in the nick of time. LINK
