The more casting info we learn about that upcoming sci-fi sequel Terminator: Genesis, the more curious we become. So put you’re thinking cap on: Here are five guys who could be the next Kyle Reese.
Director Alan Taylor has already threw us a curveball with 26-year-old Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) playing Sarah Connor and 44-year-old Jason Clarke (The Chicago Code) portraying her son, John Connor. Well, things are about to get even weirder.
Variety is reporting five late-20s to early-30s, relatively unknown actors are on the short list to play John’s future-father Kyle Reese, originally portrayed by Michael Biehn in the original 1984 Terminator film. Options include: Sam Reid, Jai Courtney, Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Cocquerel and Wilson Bethel. The ages look like a good match for Clarke’s version of Sarah Connor, though we’re still wondering how the hell they’re going to work out all these time-travel shenanigans.
We’ve heard the sequel could find the Connor family on the run through time, potentially taking refuge in the past. So how all this fits together is anyone’s guess, but it definitely has the potential to get convoluted. If they do it right, this could definitely rock -- but there are some pitfalls that need to be avoided. Let’s just hope Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) knows what the heck he’s doing.
