Most would admit that Daniel Craig has done a capable job as the latest version of famed British spy James Bond, but apparently the studio is already thinking ahead to who could replace him—and one proposal would be a major change for the character.
In an interview promoting the latest 007 flick Skyfall, co-star Naomie Harris revealed that character actor Idris Elba (Prometheus, Luther) had actually had a meeting with the producers to feel out the potential for the first black Bond.
She told The Huffington Post:
"I didn't realize that there was this talk and then I did a film with Idris [Elba] and he said that he met Barbara Broccoli [James Bond producer] and that it does seem like there is a possibility in the future that there could very well be a black James Bond. And I would have to vote for Idris because I just finished working with him and he's a great guy."We'd have to agree with Naomi that Elba is a perfect fit for the next Bond. He has both the acting and action chops. Heck, he's even British!
What do you think? Should Craig stick around for a few more movies, or should they give Elba a shot? LINK
