Scary 'Star Wars' rumor: Disney to resurrect Darth Vader?

Ever since Disney bought Lucasfilm, the rumors surrounding a new "Star Wars" film have been flying around like a whole herd of speeder bikes through the forest of Endor. One of the latest is that Disney is looking to bring Darth Vader back from the very final-looking death he had in "Return of the Jedi."

As far as rumors go, it's harder to get more unsubstantiated than this one. The source is from British tabloid site Express.co.uk. The article quotes "industry insiders" as saying Disney plans to have Darth Vader return to play a significant role in a new trilogy.

It's easy to see the appeal of bringing Darth Vader back. He's the ultimate bad guy of the series and one of the most iconic science fiction villains ever created. For some fans, though, the mere thought of resurrecting him just to sell more movie tickets is sacrilege.

If Disney does try to pull this off, it will have to be very careful about how it's handled. Should this rumor become reality, it will be up to "Little Miss Sunshine" screenwriter Michael Arndt to make it work.

What do you think? Should Disney resurrect Darth Vader or leave him to the fate he already suffered? If he is brought back, what would you consider to be an acceptable method for resurrection?
