With the critical hit series Breaking Bad winding down, rumors
have run wild that star Bryan Cranston might be headed to the DC
universe to play one of Superman’s biggest baddies. So what does he
think of all the buzz?
Not surprisingly, the bald antihero is extremely interested in taking on the role of Lex Luthor in Batman vs. Superman, though he didn’t go so far as confirming that talks are taking place.
Here’s what he told Metro when asked about the role:
“Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”
That
admittedly weird description shows Cranston would definitely have a
unique approach if he got the job, and it also implies he’s given the
role some thought. With the script still in the development phase, we
can surely expect this casting media storm to keep swelling for a while —
but Cranston does represent a very interesting option (that is, if they
don’t take Stan Lee’s advice and go in a very different direction entirely).
What do you think? Does he have what it takes to go mano-a-mano with the Man of Steel?
