Gilliam finally fixes nagging Time Bandits problem 30 years later

If you happen to pick up the recent Blu-ray release of Terry Gilliam’s cult hit Time Bandits, you might notice things look a little bit different this time around.
The 1981 sci-fi fantasy tale stands up remarkably well, largely due to its sharp writing and compelling story. But the effects left a bit to be desired — and Gilliam has finally broken down and digitally altered a small (but annoying) gaffe that has persisted since the film was first made.

Remember that scene where the Time Bandits are in Kevin’s bedroom, and try to escape down a long black corridor? If you looked closely, there was a bit of masking tape flapping around on the margin of the shot.
It’s apparently annoyed Gilliam enough to fix it, and with the Blu-ray release he had them touch it up and digitally remove the little white speck. So, not a major change, but it's still neat to see that all these years later he’s still striving for perfection.
It’s also nice to see such a great film receive a full restoration and Blu-ray release, opening it up for a whole new generation of fans.
