Child Models Protected Under New Labor Laws


In New York, as part of a new legislation, young models under the age of eighteen have been brought under the protection of the department of child labor laws. These models were previously covered under the more controversial rules of the department of education, which many considered to be abusive. These young models are now afforded the same protection as other child performers. However, some wonder if this new law will discourage designers from casting younger models for their shows.
