This is Puck, Gilda and Rosie. If you're looking at the humans in the picture above, then you're not meeting the new camera crew — they're the robotic arms in the background.
A team of programmers, technicians and folks who work in film over at San Fransisco's Autofuss have repurposed the three Fanuc s430iL robotic arms, which were originally designed to put together cars on an assembly line, to act as cameramen instead. While they don't have that human touch (or the human ability to walk around), the trio of 'bots can hold a camera and glide it through a scene with unwavering precision, bringing a whole new element of control to a set.
What's more, the 'bots are able to wield more than just cameras, but props and the like, too, as you can see in the extra picture down below.
