Apple delaying white iPhone 4 until spring

Consumers eager to snag the white iPhone 4 will have to wait until next spring, the Associated Press is reporting.

Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller says the smartphone's release has been pushed back until next year, but did not cite any reasons for the delay.

This is the second delay for the white iPhone 4. In July, Apple postponed its release until later this year, saying the devices "have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected."

Recent buzz began swirling around the white iPhone 4 when the app for the Apple Store had listed the device for in-store reservation.

When the white iPhone 4 does launch, it will be available in 16 GB ($199) and 32 GB ($299) varieties.
