It seems like every time someone comes up with a better bike lock, the bike thieves come up with away to steal your wheels anyway. This clever gadget takes a completely new approach, by simply moving your bike up into the air where even the tallest thief will have a tough time reaching it.
Created by a German toy and model company called Conrad, the lock uses parts scavenged from a motorized skateboard to lift your bike up a standard lamp post, where it will be hard to reach. In the video, you can see how they built it, and a short demonstration of how it works.
If this catches on, I guess we'll have to be on the lookout for shifty looking guys in ski masks who happen to be carrying ladders.
