What do you do if you want to simulate how the sun will look at any time during any point in the year? If you're Ford, you build the Visual Performance Evaluation Lab.
This lab uses motorized lights with 6,000 watts of combined power to simulate the sun, allowing them to adjust it to behave as it would anywhere on Earth, at any time of day, at any point during the year. Neat! But why? In order to provide them with a "very user-friendly, pleasant environment inside." Oh-kay. I don't really get it, but then again, I'm not an engineer.
