Explosive new 3-D Green Lantern trailer blows us away even in 2-D
Pull up a chair, everybody—Tomar-Re (Geoffrey Rush) is about to tell us a story. In the latest Green Lantern trailer, the alien gives a history lesson on the Lantern Corps, the Guardians of the Universe and their super-exclusive power rings. And even though you can't tell on your computer—the trailer's in 3-D!
Of course, you'll have to head to a theater to see this in 3-D, but it still blows us away.

We think this trailer was created specifically for people who know nothing about the Green Lantern comic. The first half of it is pretty much a bio of how the Lantern Corps came to be and why Hal Jordan's (Ryan Reynolds) a significant character. They also touch on Parallax and the most dangerous color of the rainbow—yellow!

It also looks like Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard) is being possessed or having his life force drawn out. In this movie, that guy really goes through it, doesn't he? He has a face only a mother could love.

It's no secret that the power rings can create whatever the Lantern thinks of (usually weapons). But in the trailer we actually see a few vehicles thrown into the mix. An old school car gets driven through a building and a tank is shown shooting off major rounds. We wonder what else those rings will do in this movie?

The Green Lantern opens in theaters everywhere on June 17.
So what do you think of the new trailer?
