Everybody's always complaining about that "uncanny valley"—robots or other re-creations looking almost human but not entirely human so that the gap between the two creeps us out. Yet sometimes erasing that gap can be just as creepy.
Artist Jordu Schell has created a life-sized bust of actor Peter Cushing as the Star Warsvillain Grand Moff Tarkin, using glass eyes, silicone skin and a heck of a lot of talent.
But as much as we admire it, we're not so sure we'd want it around the house. The thing is so lifelike we expect it to snap at us any moment to "Terminate her ... immediately!"
