10-year-old girl abducted in Carrollton was stabbed to death

Authorities say a 10-year-old Oklahoma City girl who was abducted in Carrollton over the weekend was stabbed to death.
Jasmen Gonzalez suffered a stab wound in the chest, according to the Dallas County medical examiner's office.
Police are investigating whether the girl was sexually assaulted before her death, and they have questioned and searched the apartment and vehicle of a friend of her family.
No arrests had been made in the slaying, but the family friend was being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. He was described as a "person of interest."

Jasmen's body was found Sunday after an exhaustive search by local and federal investigators. She had been dumped in some bushes beside a Clint Street house a few blocks away from the Walnut Street Apartments where she was kidnapped. Her family was in town for a party there.
Residents in the neighborhood were shaken by what happened there this weekend.
Polly Ladd, a grandmother who lives near where Jasmen was found, said there won't be any trick-or-treating in the neighborhood for her grandchildren.
"I don't want to let my grandkids out of my sight," she said.
Mary Dunn, 58, lives in a house near the apartment complex and said that four of her grandchildren just moved in. She, too, said Halloween is off.
"It's very scary," she said.
Police have said that the kidnapping did not appear to be random and that residents have nothing to fear.
