GENEVA — The Nissan Invitation concept, to be unveiled in early March at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show, previews a new B-segment minicar that will join the Micra and the Juke in Europe in 2013.
Nissan on Monday released photos of the car, which it described as a "mainstream B-segment contender," but scant details.
The Invitation is a swoopy-looking five-door hatchback. In Europe, it will square off against the Ford Fiestaand other minicompacts in the segment.
Nissan said the production version will have high fuel economy and low CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km, thanks to an aerodynamic design, lightweight construction and advanced engine technology.
Among the production car's advanced systems are an Around View Monitor, which assists the driver in reversing and parallel parking, and Safety Shield, which Nissan says "interacts with the driving environment, keeping the driver aware of what is happening around the car." PHOTOS
