The release of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises has been accompanied by a massive official marketing machine driven by trailers, virals, action figures and, of course, posters. But even as Warner Bros. rolled out its promotional imagery, talented fans were cooking up their own interpretations of the final installment in the Dark Knight trilogy, and the results are stunning.
While we waited for the film to hit theaters, artists from every corner of the Internet were cooking up their own awesome posters. Using every technique possible and incorporating much of Nolan's own imagery, they made some really, really cool stuff that often turned out better than what Warner Bros. was showing us.
