Though most fans prefer the extended, (currently bootlegged) Comic-Con cut of the Man of Steel trailer, the shorter teaser shown in theaters this weekend wasn't bad—and is actually a whole lot cooler with some classic Superman touches mixed in.
Check out this re-cut of the new teaser trailer—complete with Marlon Brando's narration as Jor-El and set to John Williams' iconic Superman: The Movie score—to see just how different, tonally, the remake will be from the classic version.
It gives the footage a completely different feel, and is admittedly a bit of a mismatch with the "more realistic" take on Superman.
Though Russell Crowe's Jor-El definitely looks the part, Brando's classic voiceover is a nice reminder of the big shoes he has to fill.

What do you think? Do you like the new-meets-old cut, or are you looking forward to a gritty newSuperman?
