Released in 2005, Microsoft's Xbox 360 console is still going strong. Holding the record for the top-selling console for the last 18 months, the Xbox 360 is getting yet another awesome special edition console. This time it's a translucent console and controller bundle for Halo 4's launch.
When Microsoft ships a custom Xbox 360, it does so in style. It's not just a matter of slapping a new color and some game logo onto the exterior; it's serious brainstorming.
From the materials to the design, everything is accounted for to ensure that it looks and feels like an entirely new console, even when it's not. The Halo 4 Limited Edition console, like the Star Wars R2-D2 model has its own custom power and eject sounds (which you can hear here and here).
The body is made from a slick translucent case that's deliberately designed with small details such as "insect wings" and blue LEDs on the Xbox ring and home button on the controller to mimic an important item within the game.
Look for the Halo 4 Xbox 360 bundle that comes with the console (320GB), two controllers, Halo 4, an Xbox LIVE headset and special Xbox LIVE tokens (for redeeming Halo 4 downloadable content) to hit shelves on November 6 for $399.99. If you just want the controller, you can grab one for $59.99 alongside a free Avatar T-shirt item.
If you still don't own an Xbox 360, November will be the perfect time to get one.
