HBO has released a new animated Game of Thrones Season 2 Blu-ray exclusive short that reveals the secrets of the Alchemists Guild and that pesky (yet totally awesome) little thing called wildfire.
Narrated by that old alchemist geezer Hallyne the Pyromancer from Season 2 (played by veteran actor Roy Dotrice), this new clip talks about the history of his order and the story of wildfire which was featured heavily in the masterful Blackwater episode written by George R. R. Martin himself back in Season 2.
“The History of the Alchemists” is but one little part of the many, many, many extras that the Season 2 Blu-ray set will be chock full of.
We’ve always liked those animated extras that provide useful (and much needed) background information that are not dealt with in the hit HBO fantasy series, but are found in Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series of books.

HBO's Game of Thrones Season 2 will be released on February 19 on DVD and Blu-ray sets (if you own a Blu-ray player or Playstation 3, grab this one). Season 3 will begin to air on March 31.
