Just for Friday laughs, this video purports to show a guy revealing a top-secret iPhone app that can create 3D holograms. After using the iPhone's camera to shoot video of his head, he presses a button, holds the phone horizontally and — abracadabra — the phone creates a 3D hologram floating above the screen. Does anyone even have to say, "fake?"
Of course not. From the onscreen URL alone ("whoisthebaldguy.com") it's pretty obvious this guy is just here to entertain. If that wasn't enough, the name of the app is bleeped out, the title of the vid says it's for the "iPhone 5," and for anyone who knows anything about how normal LCD screens work, creating floating holograms is impossible.
Still, clever stuff, and we're impressed by the illusory 3D effect. We also like the obvious attention to detail in his other video about a different fictional iPhone app, Nude It. Don't all click at once, now.
