Sneak Peek: SHIELD Helicarrier from Joss Whedon's Avengers

What weighs 100,000 tons, is held aloft by eight propellers and is full of the coolest secret agents ever? The massive airborne headquarters of Nick Fury's globe-trotting badasses.
Now, we should probably ignore the insane aeronautics gimme required by these designs—there's no way, NO WAY you're gonna keep a vessel the size of the U.S.S. Nimitz in the air with a measly eight rotors—and just say that this looks cool as heck.
Designed by George Hull, and originally slated to appear in Iron Man 2, the Helicarrier might make its debut on top of the San Diego Convention Center: Marvel Studio chairman Kevin Feige wants to put one up there at next year's San Diego Comic-Con, giving fans a sneak peek before The Avengers is released in 2012.
