Alien invasions are fun. (Well, the movies, that is. The real thing not so much, we suppose.) Skyline's coming out today, plus we also get to sink our teeth into the first trailer for next spring's Battle: Los Angeles, now apparently retitled: World Invasion: Battle LA.
The trailer is giving us the feeling that we're actually watching ID4, District 9, War of the Worlds, Aliens AND Black Hawk Down all rolled up into one, neat little package, supported by awesome special effects. And though the haunting music chosen for the trailer (Jóhann Jóhannsson's "Sun's Gone Dim") made us (at first) go "what the heck is that choice of music for an alien invasion?" it sort of wrapped up the whole thing in a neat little spooky bow. We're crossing our fingers that the movie lives up to what we're seeing here.
Starring Aaron Eckhart as a marine squad leader and Michelle Rodriguez as an Air Force tech sergeant, World Invasion: Battle LA will invade our movie screens on March 11, 2011.
