Stop wind turbines from killing birds with a can of purple paint

One of the complaints about wind turbines, is that a lot of birds seem to get killed byflying into them. Now a study suggests that simply painting them purple could solve the problem.

It turns out that most of the birds are trying to snack on insects that have been attracted to the blades by their white or light gray color, and if you paint the blades another color there will be fewer bugs, and therefore fewer birds trying to eat them. After extensive testing, the researchers at Britain's Loughborough University determined that purple is the least bug friendly color.
I just wonder what the whiners who complain about "unsightly" wind farms will think of this plan. I can see them being okay with black or red turbines, but purple?
