This 570MP dark energy camera is nicer than yours

This here is a four-ton camera with five-foot-tall shutter and filters. It's got a whopping 570-megapixel sensor, and it's designed to take pictures of dark energy. It is better than the camera in your cellphone.
Yep, it's the DECam at Chicago's Fermilab, and it's only about 80% complete. When finished, it'll be shipped off to the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile, where it'll be used to try to determine if 3/4 of the universe is made up of dark energy or if gravity behaves differently than Einstein thought it did. Certainly more important work than you documenting another night out with your friends, no?
