It may not be the tallest or even the quickest accelerating, but there's no disputing that at 149.1-mph, the new Formula Rossa roller coaster in Abu Dhabi has taken the crown as the world's fastest.
Watch as Ferrari Formula 1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa try it out for the first time. At first they put on brave faces, but these are soon replaced by a look of sheer terror as the coaster zooms up to top speed in less than four seconds. They then seem to relax a bit for the remainder of the wild ride.
Formula Rossa just opened as part of Ferrari World, an insanely huge theme park in the United Arab Emirates. Previews of the coaster promised something special, but this looks amazing.
