Most automakers use major auto shows to unveil vehicles, but Mercedes-Benzhas decided to debut two new models in its upcoming Super Bowl commercial.
Although the commercial won’t officially hit the airwaves until the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, Mercedes-Benz has added the commercial to its Facebook page. The Facebook version of the commercial is 100 seconds long, but it’s possible the on-air version will be trimmed to 60 seconds.
Whatever the case, the commercial ends with a shot of four new Mercedes models, including two we have never seen before – the C63 AMG Coupe and the SLS AMG Roadster.
The C63 AMG coupe has been rumored for some time and will give Mercedes a direct competitor to the BMW M3 and Audi S5. Like its sedan counterpart, the C63 coupe is expected to use a 451 horsepower 6.2L V8.
The SLS AMG convertible completes the SLS line, joining the current coupe and GT race car. The SLS convertible will likely have similar performance stats to the coupe, but expect a price tag above the hardtop’s $183,000 price of entry.
