Huawei is developing the Chinese Telepresence market with single screen and 3-screen 1080p/720p HD video Telepresence solutions

31 August 2009. China is the second largest market after the United States for videoconferencing systems. And now it is on the way to reaching that position for Telepresence systems.
The leading supplier is Chinese company Huawei with headquarters in Shenzhen best known for its telecom equipment sales worldwide.


Huawei launched the 3-screen Huawei Viewpoint T3006 Telepresence solution in April 2009 (See picture). We covered this story in the 27 April 2009 issue.

The Huawei T3006 Telepresence solution is designed to accommodate up to 6 people. It provides 1080p or 720p High Definition (HD) video, high quality AAC-LD directional audio and three 65-inch LCD display screens. There is panoramic HD video camera, a wireless touch screen control panel and more. A Huawei spokesperson told us Huawei has already sold a significant number of T3006 systems.

Huawei also offers the Huawei Viewpoint T1002 Telepresence solution designed to accommodate 1 - 2 people. This has a single display screen and provides 1080p or 720p High Definition (HD) video and high quality AAC-LD audio. There is one fold-down wireless touch screen control panel. This model was launched only recently and sales figures are not yet available.
