Motorola unveils its first TD-SCDMA dual-core Android phone, Motorola MT870 in China
Motorola has launched an advanced Android smartphone in the chinese handset market. In association with China Mobile, the new Motorola MT870 is the world’s first dual-core smartphone, which will be accessing China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network.
The Motorola smartphone comes with a capable dual-core 1 GHz Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and an attractive 4-inch qHD (540×960) capacitive touchscreen. The device also sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and autofocus. It is also is also capable of 720p HD video recording.
There is a secondary front-facing VGA camera also provided that allows video calling. The new MT870 provides users with 1080p HD video playback and supports 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth. HDMI out, DLNA are also there, other than that the device contains a 8GB on-board memory, microSD card support are also present.
Motorola MT870 also includes GPS, 512 MB of RAM, and an 1880 mAh battery that makes it quite appealing. The latest Motorola phone runs on new Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) OS version.
The latest smartphone is available with Motorola and China Mobile’s brand new joint venture of app store dubbed as Shop4Apps. This App store provides numerous Apps designed particularly for the Chinese market.
The Motorola smartphone is also available with several Chinese Mobile services like TeleNav, 139 Mail, Fetion, and CMMB. The device offers QuickOffice, Sticky Notes, and business card scanning kind of features.
The Motorola MT870 is expected to be available from authorized Motorola retailers as well as China Mobile’s stores all over China in few days. It will be available at a retail price of RMB 4,680 ( $725 or Rs.36,250 approximately). There is no news on the launch of this device in India, but we hope it will be happening sooner than later.
