Most cops drive big sedans like Chevy Caprices and Impalas, but even in their souped-up cop versions, these cars are no match for a speeder in something like a Corvette or a Porsche. To level the playing field, some lucky cop somewhere is about start patrolling in this undercover Nissan GT-R.
The GT-R isn't too familiar outside car enthusiast circles, but don't let the Nissan nameplate put you off, because this thing eats Lamborghinis and Ferraris for breakfast. With its four wheel drive and computer aided everything, Nissan claims that the 2012 GT-R can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, so the cops won't exactly need to upgrade it in order to catch anything short of a Bugatti Veyron.
The police modifications are being installed by by EVI, a Northern Virginia company that supplies vehicles to forces in Virginia and the Washington DC area, but they won't say who it's for. I would just suggest that if any black GT-R pulls up next to you at the lights, don't challenge it to a race, you're going to lose whether it's a cop or not.
Of course once they pull you over for going 170-mph in a 35-mph school zone, I'm not sure how they plan to transport you to the pokey. The GT-R has only two seats. PHOTOS
