Little-known sci-fi fact: James Cameron played the Alien Queen

James Cameron is a hard-working director, writer, producer, editor, underwater director of photography, artist and actor. But did you know that he was also the voice of the Alien Queen in Aliens?
When Cameron, a famed control freak in an occupation peopled with control freaks, wasn't involved in every aspect of production, he was involved in every aspect of post-production.

In this clip below, he explains that he's very involved in sound editing in his movies and that much of the sound for Aliens was created in his living room in his house near Pinewood Studio. Cameron stepped up and did the voice of the Queen.
Well, it's not a voice so much as heavy breathing, hissing and shrieking. But it was all Cameron.
In fact, Cameron was also the voice of the T-1000 as it melted at the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. In the video, sound designer Gary Rydstrom explains that the had intended to use the sound of "dry ice blending in with monkey screams." Cameron heard it and rejected it. Instead, he recorded himself squealing.
(We wonder what T-1000 actor Robert Patrick thought when he saw himself in that scene.)
See below for a look (and listen) at Cameron's voice cameos, which he has done in all of his popular movies.
