Well,
this is awesome. Want to see what George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and
Martin Scorsese have to say about the future of film ... in 1990?
The folks at Cinephilia and Beyond
have tracked down a 48-minute TV special, circa 1990, featuring
interviews with Lucas, Spielberg and Scorsese talking about the future
of movies and what they expect over the next several years. Even cooler?
It’s moderated by film legends Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert.
To
see these guys when they were just exploding into the mainstream is
absolutely amazing, and it's fascinating to hear their thoughts on where
things might go in the next decade. Even more than 20 years ago, these
guys were still geniuses.
Timeline-wise, this interview catches Lucas coming off his writing duties on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, while Spielberg is still three years away from Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List. And yes, from Star Wars prequel talk to rumors of an E.T. sequel, it’s all here.
Clear some time on your schedule, sit back, and get ready for a blast from the past. VIDEO
