Snake-Bitten 1956 Ford F-100 Sells For $450,000 At Barrett-Jackson

Gene Simmons likes to put his personal stamp of approval on plenty of items. Recently, he and his wife Shannon Tweed partnered up with Ford to produce a pretty wild custom F-100 pickup truck. It was unveiled at the 2013 SEMA show, where folks got a look at its rather impressive under skin bits. This truck is a mashup of the classic F-100 goodness and modern Shelby GT500 go-fast parts. It's a fantastic idea... that falls apart a bit when you look at the face of the vehicle.

Regardless, it was sent out to Scottsdale to hit up the Barrett-Jackson auction that's recently finished up. This was a charity auction, which means big results are to be expected and big results is what this truck wound up seeing.

The final hammer price was $450,000, with all proceeds set to go to the Children's Hospital of Saskatchewan. Some may scoff at the final sale prices of such vehicles, but when you consider where the money is going... well, you should reconsider your scoffing. A worthwhile charity gets many hundreds of thousands of dollars, and some wealthy gent or lady gets a classic truck that hides 550-horsepower 5.4-liter Shelby V-8 engine under its hood.
That, friends, is what we call a win-win.
