You could use this USB Typewriter with any computer, but, really, it truly shines when you use it with an iPad. That's because the iPad doubles as the unit's paper, and even scrolls by as you type — and dings!
The best part? If you wanted to make one for yourself you totally could, as Jack Zylkin, the designer, has made kits available for relatively cheap. I say relative because $75 (or $150 for a prefab) is pretty pricey, but not as expensive as the $400 to $500 asking price for the assembled stuff.
