There have been a number of reports in recent days about iTunes customers who have uncovered unauthorized purchases on their accounts. A Wednesday blog post from PayPal, however, said that the problems are not the result of compromised PayPal or Apple severs.
Anecdotal reports suggest that some iTunes users have discovered multiple App Store charges on their credit cards that they did not make. But while the issue made headlines this week, PCMag security analyst Larry Seltzer noted last month that the issue has actually been going on for years, and the most recent reports do not represent a major spike in activity.
