It's been more than a year since we told you about that new Heavy Metal movie meant to be directed by the likes of James Cameron, David Fincher, Zack Snyder and Gore Verbinski. With names like that, you'd think there'd be some progress by now, but ... no. And according to Fincher, the film is being held up for three very simple reasons.
In an interview with MTV, Fincher explained that the combination of three of the film's elements has made it a difficult sell regardless of talent:
"We're trying to get people to embrace—R-rated, anthology, 3-D. You would think [there would be no problems] with all of the examples we can show of how it works! ... It's an ongoing process. It's going to be one of those things that when we finally get to do it, that's when everybody will say, 'Of course! We always loved this!'"LINK
