You know the drill, you're at a fancy dinner or in a meeting and your phone rings. Even if it's on vibrate, it would be pretty rude to pull it out to check who it is, so you just let it pass. With a LiveView display from Sony Ericsson, this scenario could become a thing of the past.
The LiveView is a mini display for your Android phone that you can wear on your wrist like a watch. The display can be set to show anything from who's calling, to text messages, email, or even updates from your Facebook and Twitter feeds. It can also be set to display the time like a regular watch, so you won't need to deal with the extra dorky effect of wearing two watch-like devices at the same time.
It connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and provides an easy and subtle way to check your phone, even though it's probably only a few inches away in your pocket. The 1.3-inch touchscreen display lets you control a few basic phone functions, including the music player, and there's even a 'find your phone' feature, which could be useful if you're the type of person who tends to lose their phone between the sofa cushions.
This looks like it could be the perfect tool for getting through a boring meeting or dinner with your in-laws, without looking too rude by playing with your phone.
The LiveView will be arriving before the end of the year, at a price yet to be determined.
