Mark Wahlberg may star in Crow reboot (but should he?)

Rumor has it that Mark Wahlberg has been offered the lead role in the upcoming remake of the movie that made Brandon Lee famous—and killed him in the process.
Based on James O'Barr's comic book, 1994's The Crow followed a man who was brutally murdered, along with his fiancée, and returned from beyond the grave to exact vengeance. And there was clown makeup involved.

Now, Relativity Media has engaged director Stephen Norrington—who has started franchises (Blade) and ended them (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)—to reboot The Crow, with Nick Cave rewriting the script.
Last November, producer Ryan Kavanaugh told io9 that his new Crow won't feature the Eric Draven character, but someone brand new—and that "He'll have makeup, but it will be different. The best way to compare it is the first Batman and Batman Begins. In terms of their look and feel and character."
Now, Walhberg has only been offered the role; he hasn't accepted it. He could still turn it down ... as he should've turned down The Happening.
Do you think the Planet of the Apes star should take on the role?
