A company called d3o has developed a fancy new polymer that's hard enough to withstand hits with a baseball bat, yet flexible enough to be worn over your joints. It should come in handy in everything from military armor to sporting equipment, keeping people safe while they run into or are run into by hard objects. Bring on the even more extreme sports!
